Rainbow Retreat has the highest conservation listing available. A Private Nature Reserve can only be granted to properties who have particular natural values and is passed by both houses of the Tasmanian State Parliament.

Rainbow Retreat is only ten minutes away from the most beautiful beaches in Tasmania. There are numerous walks surrounding the property including St Patricks Head, South Sisters, and Blue Tiers. We are only 35 minutes from Freycinet National Park, Douglas Apsley National Park, the Bay of Fires, Mt William National Park Ben Lomond Ski Fields.
Wildlife roam freely around the property as we are also wildlife rescuers and care for the local orphaned and injured wildlife. We have wallabies, wombats, possums, echidnas, quolls, potteroos, Tasmanian Devils, wedge tail eagles and many more animals roaming the property.
Wildlife can be viewed from the privacy of your own cabin and some can be hand fed. The property has just been listed as a Private Nature Reserve and has a Conservation Covenant placed on it and backs onto a State Reserve.
Situated on a Private Nature Reserve 500mts above sea level. Each cabin is solar powered and is self contained, we can supply you with a meal from our exstensive food menu. Wildlife roam the property. Each cabin has sensational ocean views. We have a full liquor license and stock a premium selection of Australian wines at very reasonable prices.
